Rhoda Bharath is a lecturer in the Department of Liberal Arts at the University of the West Indies (UWI), St Augustine, Trinidad & Tobago. A former secondary school English teacher, she holds a double BA in English and History, and completed her MFA in Creative Writing at UWI. She is now reading for a UWI PhD in Cultural Studies.

Rhoda was a co-ordinator of Campus Literature Week at UWI, St Augustine, from 2003–09, and co-faciliator of the Cropper Foundation Caribbean Writers' Workshop in 2008. She was herself a Cropper Foundation workshop participant in 2002. She has sat on committees for Carifesta, the UWI 60th Anniversary Book Fair and Cultural Festival and UWI's Lovelace@70 Conference.

She has had articles and papers published in the Caribbean Review of Books and UWI Today, and has presented papers at international conferences on children and regional literature.

A former sub-editor with the Trinidad Express, she is the author of The Ten Days Executive and Other Stories, which has been accepted for publication by Peepal Tree Press.

Rhoda chairs the Prize Committee of The Allen Prize for Young Writers.
