Martin Jones is a Teacher Educator with 20 years experience in preparing teachers for the primary and secondary levels of professional teaching. He started his teaching career as a Language Arts teacher at Barataria Junior Secondary School, and has taught Language and Literature at Malick Senior Comprehensive and Sixth From Polytechnic.

He created the first (and only) serial story for the Junior Express “For Better or Worse” and has maintained a keen interest in Children’s Literature, and in particular, for Caribbean readers. He has taught the Children’s Literature: Content and Methods course in the UTT Language and Literature specialisation. He contributed to curriculum reform of the Trinidad and Tobago teacher education, primary school curriculum and secondary English Language Arts at the Caribbean Examinations Council CSCE level.

His workshops in preparing Teachers in Guyana, Belize and Trinidad and Tobago effected significant improvements in teacher confidence and Language and Literature teaching.
